A striking, gold colored, folding fob knife by Imperial Knife Company and Anson, Inc. (jeweler's); both from Providence, Rhodes Island. I've included a ruler in the photos so that accurate measurements can be assessed. The piece was made sometime prior to 1983, (when Anson declared bankruptcy), but is still in excellent condition, tight, with no shim whatsoever. As can be seen in the last photo, the cover of the pebbled(engraved) side of the knife seems to have been an addition. Instead of having a smooth, machined, look to the way it is attached to the liner, (as on the linen finished, gold colored cover), itseems to have been hand-crimped in place. The name "Anson" can be found stampedinto the linen finish, under thefob ring, (please review photo).Markings: Anson, ImperialProv. R.I. USA.Questions?
